heidi elgersma
Heidi
graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Education
(Hons) in 1998. She has worked as a general classroom teacher and music
specialist for 10 years.
Heidi is currently the music teacher at John Calvin School, Launceston where she teaches classroom music, directs primary, high school and community choirs and teaches instrumental music.
Heidi is also Musical Director of the University of Tasmania's Intermediate and Concert Bands, and is a member of the UTAS Wind Orchestra.
Heidi is passionate about providing authentic musical experiences for all students.
Teaching music for understanding, enjoyment and excellence underpins her musical philosophy and is also reflected in her ongoing involvement in Professional Learning.
Heidi was the TSO Jetstar Music Educators award recipient for 2007.
